About me
I have just completed a Master of Arts degree in Typeface Design (in the University of Reading), and have previous experience working with type at the pre-press unit in Salpausselkä printing house (in Finland), both of which have helped me to build a strong understanding of type and a passion towards typography.
As part of my Masters, I have designed a typeface family (for children's publications) with three variants, which also informed my dissertation research. While working in the printing house I had a great opportunity to work in a wide range of print projects and show my skills as a typographer and a designer - my responsibilities varied from meeting clients to designing and checking materials. This builds on and complements my previous experience in package design and information graphics. I also have a strong interest in the visual arts, with a personal flair for illustration and painting.
I'm a flexible co-worker - I can carry out tasks independently as well as be a part of a team and make decisions that in the end will produce a high quality design. I have always kept to deadlines and have been well organised in my work.
I have excellent computer skills related to the field of design - I am proficient in Adobe CS, CS2 and SC3 programs (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), Font Lab Studio, Quark Xpress - as well as general competence in office software (MS Word, Excel etc.).
