About me

My most recent full time employment was working as a print designer for a womanswear retail and manufacturing company in London. However due to the current economic climate, the fashion industry has been greatly affected and I was made redundant. Subsequently I am changing my career to work within the advertising industry.I have excellent design/creative skills with an excellent working knowledge of using Adobe Photoshop which I have been using extensively for the past 4 years. As a designer I have been interpreting trend information into commercial designs. I have good communication and excellent organisational skills, the ability to keep to time lines and work well within a team.Having worked for Rise Clothing Ltd I gained experience designing marketing material. Using my computer skills I was able to help promote the company by designing brochures on a six monthly basis, designing promotional material such as flyers and helping design the layout of newsletters. This required having a good eye for colour and detail, being able to write eye catching promotional text and also commercial awareness of the latest fashion trends. I also assisted in updating the companyâ€(TM)s website.In order to build upon my skills to work within the advertising industry I have completed website design courses in using Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks at Barnfiled College, Luton. I have some knowledge of HTML and CSS and will be doing an advanced City and Guilds course in September this year.I have a strong flair for design and creativity, an eye for detail and a commitment to my work. I am reliable, self motivated and hard working. I enjoy working on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and can apply my computer aided design skills to other programmes.
