I'm Jasmine Cross - a Southampton based laid-back-visual-thinking-problem-solver with African roots, obsessed with good coffee, 80's power ballads and all things design.
My speciality is print design. The kind of design that is so much more than pretty pictures on a page. It's the kind of design that when crafted perfectly will inform, surprise, delight, and impact its audience while also meeting marketing objectives.
I'm a seasoned designer and artworker, applying 15 years of experience in a variety of business sectors. I've brought concepts to life in creative agencies and upheld stringent brand standards in-house. My experience on both sides has had a profound effect on my design, teaching me that creativity and logic have a lot more in common than what many designers realise.
I've interpreted hundreds of complex (and post-it-note) briefs, developing them into engaging and digestible printed pieces that communicate the client's message to the right audience successfully. I've dotted a lot of i's and crossed a lot of t's.
I've made many, many cups of coffee...
My approach to design is mirrored by my approach to life; balanced and simplistic. The saying 'less is more' being a key influence on my style. My passion for layout is coupled with a love of clean white space... Marrying these two together is what I do best and love most.
My unproductive addiction to Pinterest means I'm able to keep a watchful eye on the latest design trends.
I'm experienced in a range of design disciplines including page layout, branding, infographics, packaging, OOH media, signage, merchandising, POS, direct mail and digital. I have up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
