About me
I have extensive teaching experience within the field of Creative arts and Design and my experiences on the PGCE course means I am familiar with educational requirements in terms of delivering and potentially designing a course curriculum. I would describe myself as patient but firm and highly enthusiastic in my manner of teaching. I have a lot to offer students in terms of creative and professional practice guidance and advice regarding potential progression routes. My professional experiences as a sculptor in the early days and as a freelance Theatre Designer and Film Production Designer with experience on both feature films and adverts stand me in good stead to advise and guide students creatively across a broad range of art related disciplines. I am currently developing my own portfolio of Digital illustration and animation work with the intention of continuously developing my digital skills and knowledge. I have always enjoyed teaching, inspiring and nurturing young talent. I extended my own skill base to embrace the field of Digital Arts, which I believe is relevant to most Design disciplines. I also encourage students to develop a thorough and intensive range of research skills and practices in order to create a solid and informed foundation for their creative production I have a continuing commitment to research and creative development as a practicing professional myself with an emphasis now on Illustration and Graphics as well as Set Design for both 2d and 3d animation.
