About me

I feel the nature of my degree and current employment has prepared me for this position. I am an extremely capable editor who has over three years of experience in the industry. I believe I could fit comfortably into the company and provide what you're looking for.

In my current role I have advanced from a Production Assistant to Lead Editor. I am responsible for all of the post-production output that goes through Pearldrop (projects created by myself and two other editors), along with ensuring all files have been backed up, encoded and delivered in the format the client desires. I feel I have progressed as far as possible in my current position and I am very eager to take my next step in the industry. Over the past few years I have become extremely knowledgable and competent in regards to creating high quality online and live event video content quickly and efficiently, including for companies such as Thomas Pink, Johnson & Johnson and charities such as BLESMA and Great Ormond Street Hospital. I have learnt how to condense a 30 to 60 minute interview down seamlessly to a 2 to 5 minute video while still maintaining the narrative and overall heart of the story. The structure and narrative of a video is incredibly important to me and I strive to present every video's story to the best of my abilities.

I am an accurate and fast editor with a keen eye for detail, and I'm used to working on projects with quick turnovers and on location at times. I also have the experience of editing on both Adobe Premiere (along with the whole of Adobe CC) and Final Cut Pro, creating comps on After Effects and Motion.

I feel that my time at Pearldrop has helped greatly improved my communication skills day to day with colleagues and especially when caring for clients. I feel I am good at working with clients and making sure any notes they may have on a project are listened to and dealt with in the most beneficial way for the end product. I do this in a way that is welcoming, friendly and helpful. I have received good feedback from clients in regards to my communication skills and flexibility throughout a project and the overall quality of the final product that I deliver to them.

I have good leadership skills and have become confident and comfortable in taking on the role of leader throughout the duration of a project. I am always eager to learn from others and more about the software I use on a daily basis as well as being able to pick up new software quickly. I am familiar with working on various cameras on a shoot from Sony EX3 and FS700, Blackmagic Design Production Camera 4K and Canon 5D.

Yours sincerely,

Jamie Slough.
