About me
Hi there,
I just typed up the most amazing description of myself and my browser crashed, so this is just a tribute.
I'm a student editor and screenwriter at Northern Film School in Leeds. My main passion is for colour correction, so I'm well-versed in DaVinci Resolve, as well as Avid, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier Pro. I like to work creatively, finding solutions that maintain the emotion of the scene/sequence, rather than zeroing in on the rhythm, which I find often leads to an end product high on continuity but low on impact.
I love working as part of a team, but I'm also capable of shutting myself away for hours at a time to work on a project. I've worked in all roles and departments on set to some extent, so I have a broad experience and understanding of the turning cogs that make a film work.
I've also worked as a creative editor for a self-run literary magazine, so I have my skills there, too: copy-editing, website promotion, organisation and more.
In general I just love being part of a collaborative and creative enterprise and would love to forge a career in post-production.
In my leisure time, I watch (shock horror) a lot of films, read books, try to exercise as much as I can (probably not as much as I should) and hang out with friends. Please don't hesitate to send me a message or make a connection.
James
