About James

I have seen your job opportunity for a Graphic Designer and am incredibly interested in the offer. I think there is a few reasons which make me a good candidate:

1) Something that immediately stood out to me was your desire to find someone who 'Generates and discusses ideas regardless of whether they sound silly or not'. One thing I loved the most about university were these feedback sessions where I could not just develop and discuss my own ideas but also think beyond what others had planned to do and give them new ideas. I really enjoy that feeling of an idea you have being recognised and developed and in most cases even if the idea isn't quite right it can certainly assist in developing a concept towards an outcome.

2) I consider myself to be very creative, the whole reason I chose to target a career in Graphic Design is because I wanted to enjoy working everyday and I knew for that to be the case I had to love what I was doing. On my website you can see a variety of projects I have done, in particular the Raw Records project is the best representation of me visualising and developing a concept. I think it gives you an idea on how I aimed to go above and beyond what you would expect from a retail store and how I thought outside of the box.

3) I think that my work generally shows an understanding of how brands work, Raw Records again is the most in-depth example of this but I think it's a theme you can recognise throughout my work. Brand and marketing is my main area of interest and understanding brand values and brand representation have always been key. I also started my own online business which although I was selling figures I created through independent sites, I still needed a degree of self branding to know how to make the figures I created more appealing to buyers.

I really hope you think that I have the credentials you are looking for to discuss the job further and hopefully eventually work with you. I am incredibly excited and determined to succeed and I hope that it can be with your company and team.

Best regards,

James Welch
