About me

I have now been Marketing Assistant at the New Alexandra Theatre for three years and have accomplished much in this short time.

I have been lucky enough to work as part of an award-winning marketing team where I have been able to learn and gain a lot of vital experience within arts marketing.

Since taking on the role I have been lucky to have been given responsibilities and extra duties that normally wouldn't sit with an assistant role. This has seen me blossom in skills and confidence and has now which has now given me the confidence to further my career.

I am the person in charge of all print materials within the venue which includes ordering and managing print distributions. Helping with the pagination of our seasonal brochures and working alongside John Good with our house programmes in which I manage and design our house pages.

I am responsible for acquiring all materials needed for marketing materials such as our website or adverts. So I am in regular contact with promoters when collecting all these assets.

In my department I am the go to person for anything that needs to be designed or created. This could include anything from pieces of print (such as flyers or posters), digital adverts, including HTML, for in house and external use. I have also help design ticket wallets, venue folders and pull up banners. I help with adverts for online and printed use. I have also recently helped with our seasonal brochure designs.

I regularly use Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, Adobe as well as other programes. I am able to film and edit videos to a professional standard. I am responsible for anything digital including website, e-marketing and social media.

I have been responsible for the daily amends of marketing materials and have good attention to detail whilst also helping to ensure any amends meet with brand standards. I have reported directly to the relevant promoters with artwork amends which have then been used in other venues.

For just over a year now I have started account managing shows and worked alongside promoters on shows. Working with budgets and preparing marketing plans with a wide range of activity, from press and digital ads, e shots, direct mails and radio campaigns.

I always put 100 percent effort into whatever I do and maintain excellent relationships with all of my contacts, whether these be promoters, agents or even members of the press.

I have excellent communication and written skills and whenever there is an issue I do my upmost to find a solution.

I always try my best to be a keen team player, even performing roles which are not specifically mine to help others within the team. A good example of this would be helping the Press Officer regularly.

I am an integral and well-liked part of the team here at the venue and would relish the opportunity to progress to the next level within my career.

This role would be a fantastic opportunity for me and I am very enthusiastic about what the role requires.
