About me

James is a northern-based camera operator and director of photography whose images help shape authentic stories for broadcast television, documentaries, corporate communications and online branded content.

James trained at the BBC, Arri Academy and National Film and Television School and possesses years of experience as a combat camera operator in the Royal Air Force, training at the Defense School of Photography, RAF Cosford.

Now an industry veteran, James has over a decade of international shooting experience in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia and maintains a US I Media Visa with US Global Entry.
With an eye to self-improvement, James was recently mentored by an Oscar-winning BSC through the ScreenSkills mentorship programme.
A creative problem solver at heart, his happy place is developing a project's visual identity through considered composition and lighting. Supporting colleagues with artistic, technical and logistical decision-making - an eye pressed into the viewfinder, creating work that matters with people who care.
