About me
I possess an extremely strong passion for design, media and photography, stemming from my academic career, through to my employment to date, throughout, which a keen visual awareness and creative flair was of up-most importance.
I graduated in 2004 with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Design Degree from the University of Dundee. I also possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture.
Upon graduating I undertook positions such as an Assistant Photographer for a newspaper and a Student Support Tutor and Technician for final year design pupils at the University of Dundee. My most recent of these has been as a Designer for New Heights and IKEA, respectively. I worked on a daily basis in representing the company's brands and accompanying ethos in a clear and concise fashion. The ability to Project Manage was essential, whilst also exhibiting good character to work in harmony with the wide variety of people one encountered. With all these positions organisational and interpersonal skills of the highest standard were a must, coupled with the ability to time manage and priortise so as to meet set deadlines.
These roles allowed me to additional develop skills, which I feel would be beneficial to a position with the Creative Industries, enhanced further through my active participation with an Arts Collective in South London, within which exhibitions and events are regularly set up, and by keeping up to date with cultural and topical issues.
