About me
I graduated with First Class honours in Illustration from the University of the West of England in 2009. There, I developed a deep passion for character design and creating images for children. I've written and illustrated two picture books, one of which recieved a “highly commended” award in the 2008 Macmillan Prize. I'm able to work with a wide range of subject matters, and have designed posters, cards, calendars and toys, using knowledge gained from both my illustration and product design courses. My visual language is fun, unique, and adaptable to suit any application.
I began to make crafts in 2010, making large, entirely hand sewn felt cats, and these have proved hugely popular, generating thousands of hits on both my website and online shop. I offer a bespoke service for people wanting personalised items, and doing this has meant communicating with clients on a personal level, listening to ideas and criticism and adapting accordingly. I pride myself on the ability to communicate my entire design process - from storyboard sketches through to finished article. It's extremely important to me that the final article mirrors the brief exactly, and my keen eye for detail and rapid work rate help to deliver exactly what is asked of me.
As well as continuing my illustration and craft projects, most recently I have been working on in-house promotional videos for major brands such as Jameson Whiskey, BT, BMW Mini, and Phillips. This has involved developing sketches into vector graphics, working to strict deadlines, and animating motion graphics - all the while reporting to project managers for feedback.
I honestly believe I'm brilliantly suited to this role. From excellent illustration skills to product design to web design, I know I would be an asset to your company.
