Dear Sir/Madame,

I read your job posting for the Designer role with interest. With various tenures held in previous positions, I feel that I have gained & nurtured various skills & competencies relevant to the role.

With expansive work experience in almost every facet of visual communications- from print to multimedia, illustration to animation, I feel I bring something substantial to the table.

Even before I first started out as a freelance designer almost 9 years ago, I had already grown a particular fondness for the field. As the years went by and my resume grew, I decided to learn my craft from the bottom up. This was facilitated by my Digital Arts degree which instilled in me a working knowledge & appreciation of all forms of digital design.

Through my freelance work, I came to understand the client-designer relationship and how to deal with the dynamic nature of varying perspectives especially when working to design briefs.

I also possess 7years experience within the Gaming field. During this time I also learned to listen and to tell the difference between what the client wants and what the client truly needs. I learned to work within a team, negotiate with second & third parties, and channel work based on peoples strengths within a team.

Admittedly I have no formal experience working in design as part of any company or firm, I view this role as a new challenge.
