Dear Sir / Madame,

I am writing to apply for the exciting position of 3D Designer at Ice. I have recently graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Sustainable Product Design from Falmouth University. Whilst my final year projects were based around conservation strategies and designing with empathy, I placed emphasis on delivering visually-pleasing solutions and detailed prototypes to support the projects and evidence their practical applications.

I am motivated and passionate about all aspects of the design process; research discovery, idea generation, CAD development and realising both 2D and 3D solutions. Exploration of materials and digital manufacturing equipment has captivated my attention and has helped me to develop a broad range of transferable skill sets, necessary in taking a product to market. This includes the use of 2D software packages such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign and 3D CAD packages such as Solidworks and Rhino 3D. Although I have had minimal experience with Vectorworks and Renderworks, I am confident in my ability to learn this design software, given my knowledge of other 3D programs.

This role is of particular interest to me because of the opportunity to apply the full range of presentation skills and technical knowledge I have gained during the last 3 the years in relation to manufacturing processes and graphic design principals. I believe that I meet the requirements for a proactive, creative and technically-competent individual, whose diverse portfolio of work demonstrates a tactful use of digital technologies to create well-considered solutions.

I am confident in my ability to familiarise myself with the many demands of this role and look forward to the challenge of learning any new skills I might require.
