About me

My name is James Barry. I graduated from Royal Holloway University in July of 2007, achieving a 2:1 in Drama and Creative Writing.

I am currently working as a copywriter/SEO writer for LeadGenerators, an online SEO and KEC writing agency. I am a freelance writer for "The Stage" national newspaper, a script reader and reviewer for the Theatre 503 literary department and an official reviewer for a number of online film, music and theatre review sites. I have worked as a production assistant productions, writing radio adverts and press releases as well as information for programmes. I was also an arts and entertainment reviewer for my university newspaper and magazine, and a copy and content writer for a theatre company. These varied work and voluntary positions have given me experience at writing on a range of different subjects and in a variety of different styles.

At university I developed my organisational and networking skills both independently and as a part of my degree, and the experiences have fed my personal development. While at Royal Holloway I focused on the writing and production aspects of my degree. I funded my own productions, producing and directing work at the Edinburgh fringe, as well as writing promotional copy for them. Work on productions has given me an excellent working knowledge of budgets, deadline, people management and problem solving.
