About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Jade Anya Ruddy and I am a 24 year old Digital Art Graduate keen to gain a full time Graphic Design position.

I am an ambitious, hard working and zealous young woman keen to begin her career and willing to undertake any training necessary to benefit this. Throughout my time at University I had the opportunity to work with my fellow classmates as a team for projects which gave me the chance to express my interpersonal and communication skills which I pride myself highly on. My ambition has always been to work for a brand and to be a part of a team that really makes a difference to the way products are viewed and promoted to consumers. My degree is primarily in design but I have also had the chance to gain experience in marketing whilst at University and since then within M&Co where I am currently undertaking a 3 month internship. I enjoy all aspects of graphic design, marketing, brand development and promotion and am proficient in most aspects of the Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Flash.

In November this year I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to join M&Co the fashion retailer, as an unpaid intern for 3 months within their Website Content team. In this role I help to keep all their social media platforms updated with various offers/promotions and also new arrivals so that customers are always kept in the loop. I also create graphics to go with these promotions and these are used both on the main M&Co retail website and across the internet as web banners to draw more traffic to the site. I thoroughly enjoy being able to put my skills to use and the position has made me even more eager and determined to move onwards and upwards within the design field.

At the moment I am also currently interning with a local vintage boutique owner who has asked me to help her with the redesign of the company's marketing materials including calling cards, business cards and poster design. This position has given me the opportunity to work first hand with a client and made me realise just how much I want to make it in the design industry.

I appreciate a position such as this gets inundated with emails from graduates but I hope my email stands out from the rest and that you give me the chance to show what I am made of.

Although I currently reside in Scotland I understand this opportunity is based in England and have thought long and hard about relocating for the right role, so please do not let this affect my application.
