About me
To Whom It May Concern,
I hope you are well.
I am a 28 year old freelance web design and developer from Northampton. I have been working as freelance/contract web designer for over a 2 years now. I have bags of experience in web design and development and have been working in the industry for over 7 years now, more recently I have found myself developing not only my coding/design skills but my management of projects and teams, to further increase my skillset for a management level.
I would predominantly call myself a front end developer but, also, I have graphic design skills and a really good eye for designing clean and simple websites. It is my belief that a website should, firstly, function well and be enjoyable to use, as well as looking good, so that the user has a fantastic overall experience. I enjoy writing elegant html with clever but simple CSS and have used frameworks such as Bootstrap and Skeleton. These frameworks are particularly helpful when a client requires a responsive design.
I am currently working as a freelance developer for a company in Bedfordshire (Phew Internet) and carry out various tasks on new builds, updates and functionality fixes for WordPress websites. I also have vast experience in building sites using Drupal, which has enabled me to learn about the back-end of web design. Additionally, I am working on several web designs/builds for a few different companies which I have acquired through Glass Onion Design.
Most recently, I have invested time in learning some of the excellent JavaScript frameworks/libraries. It is my belief that client-side frameworks are the way to build rich web apps. This excellent blog post by Steven Sanderson really hits home on this point .
