JACK COSTELLO

I am a recent media studies degree graduate, obtaining a high 2.1 from the University of the West of England. Having already worked as a runner for 7 months in my gap year for Mother, an advertising agency, I am keen to obtain some further experience in a running position or that of a researcher. Already having experience and knowledge of how an agency in a media industry works, I feel I have a strong basis on which to build a carreer in some form of media production, beit documentary, film, television or radio.

As part of my degree I made two short documentaries, one on Quitting Smoking (12 min), the other on the Art of Selling (17 min). Using Sony VX2000 Cameras, I filmed, directed, edited and produced these films. The other practical aspects of my degree included Journalism and Digital Photography. The theoritical part of my degree included the History and Theory of Documentary Film and the Political Economy of the Media. The latter consisting of the study of economic and political areas of companies invloved in media industries and cultural production and how these companies operate.

I am an extremly motivated individual who uses initiative and enthusiasm, is eager to learn, friendly and has a hard working attitude.
