About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apply to the Junior Designer role. I am an enthusiastic 3rd year undergraduate studying Product Design, due to graduate in July from the University of Leeds. I have completed a 1 year work placement as a Design Engineer at manufacturing companies Gripple and Loadhog, between my 2nd and 3rd years at university.
These are the reasons I believe I would be a valuable addition to the team:
- I have natural creativity and innovative thinking, as well as having the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my degree and work experience.
- My degree combines both the creative and the technical side of design, with modules ranging from more creative focus modules such as Design Communication and Ergonomics, to more technical focussed modules such as Mechanical Systems and Manufacturing Processes. This gives me knowledge of wider considerations of design, such as cost and manufacturing considerations.
- I have regular experience of working at all levels of the design process, from early research to designing for manufacture, on a wide range of projects.
- I have excellent problem solving skills, as part of a team, while leading a team or solo, both on my degree and work placement.
Overall, I would be a great addition to the team for my passion for design and creativity, real world experience outside of my degree and an eagerness to learn and develop my career. Please consider my attached CV and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this role with you further at interview.
Yours sincerely,
Jack Beresford
