About me

IPERSONAL PROFILE

I am a professional artist. I construct situations in which my own hopes, fears and desires become the springboard for the work. The public, in turn, plays a crutial role in their development. One project which illustrates my creative abilities and capacity to organize and carry out large-scale works is The Dinner Project. In this work, I created links between strangers through food. For 52 weeks, I approached strangers on the street and proposed to make them dinner in their home. Each Sunday, I dined with different groups. On my website, I documented the project's development. At the end, I organized a reunion dinner and invited everyone who had taken part. The project sparked great interest and received widespread media attention. Recently, I have received a grant to write a book based on my weekly encounters.

In the past 10 years, I have produced a large body of work, and gained valuable experience, from securing funding through private/public sponsors, to negotiating contracts, as well as marketing my work and developing media relations. In the process, I have become highly self-disciplined and organized and have learned to work collaboratively with various types of individuals. I believe these are valuable skills in almost any type of work environment.
