About me
I am writing to express my interest in your Design Intern positions. As a Fashion Design graduate with industry experience in luxury fashion design, fabrics, tailoring and in various administration roles, I believe I am highly suitable for this role.
I graduated from the University of Kingston 2018, producing a final collection featured in Graduate Fashion Week. Following my degree I joined Vivienne Westwood as a Fabric Admin Assistant for 8 months. During my time here, I worked closely with the Mainline team, assisting with fabric requests and research. I was in contact with the mainline suppliers throughout and gained a key understanding of fabrics for fashion design, as well as sustainability. I work exceptionally hard and can follow creative direction and work under strict deadlines. I am determined to develop my fashion design skills further.
I understand garment construction and can pattern cut and produce CAD illustrations on Illustrator.I can create garment technical packages, and can effectively present key measurements and design features. I am confident in making toiles and pattern alterations, as well as using industrial sewing machines. Having gained garment production and construction knowledge throughout University and as a Tailors Assistant.
I am constantly researching new trends and concepts for fashion design, and keep documents of new ideas and mood boards. I regularly visit exhibitions, botanical gardens, libraries, as well as trend forecasting websites.
I am highly adaptable, unafraid of challenging tasks and have the strong desire to learn more. Thank you for taking the time to review my application.
Yours sincerely,
Isabella Tan.
