About me

My name is Irene Schneider and I would like to apply for the event designer position.

I have a passion for event design and would love to peruse my career with your event design company. My multi disciplinary design background consists of interior design, visual merchandising, event styling and art direction, furniture design and lighting scheming. Over the past few years I have been involved in designing event spaces on both large and small scale. I am creative and passionate about art and culture and have excellent attention to detail, communication, organisation, research and project management skills. I graduated in 2006 with a Spatial and Product Design BA with first class Honours degree from Curtin University of Technology in Australia. I am proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 5, AutoCAD and Solidworks. I have confidence that I will make a very successful and creative event designer for your Studio.

During my employment as a designer at De La Espada (delaespada.com) I was involved in the layout design and install for London's popular design event Tramshed, London 2010. Another large scale event I was involved in was the Tom Dixon stand at the Milan Furniture Fair, Italy 2010 whilst interning at Tom Dixon as a designer (tomdixon.com).

I project managed the Whitegoods (whitegoods.com) stand for the Arc Show 2011, a lighting design event. This involved the stand design, sourcing materials and props and graphic design. For 2 years I worked as a visual merchandiser and creative lighting scheme designer for high end lighting company Euroluce (euroluce.com.au). I was also involved in all the event organising, showroom creative visual merchandising, graphic design, marketing and press release designing.

I'm actively involved in the London contemporary creative scene and working on my own design projects. My current project involves creative food styling and photography for a new conceptual recipe book. I love to brainstorm and expand my creative boundaries, exploring all senses for enhancing visual stimulation and user experience. X Marks the Spot is a homewares brand I designed in which I manage all art direction, events production, styling and product development. Over the years I have won a number of design awards.

I have curated, collaborated and exhibited in numerous local and international design exhibitions including Japan's Design Festa at Tokyo Big Site in 2007 and the Milan International Furniture Fair ‐ Salone Satellite in Milan 2006.
