ABOUT
Galaxy Fight Club have a vibrant, fast paced game that can be played on desktop or mobile with a whole universe of characters, weapons and abilities.
Our challenge was to introduce all of the above, in about 30 seconds by smashing together fan favourite NFT characters and pop culture moments in a frenetic battle scene.
We had two distinct styles for both the 'real' world and the 'game' world. We varied the shooting style and art style between both to keep the real world feeling more rigid and simple to allow for more camera movement, action and stylised FX in the game world.
To ensure the chaos of the battle felt impactful we chose to follow one player experiencing the arena and it's wild characters and weapons for the first time. They enter the game out of their depth and are in awe of the carnage before becoming excited to get involved. It was important to show this change rather than start them as an experienced fighter to let the audience connect and go on the same journey.
To make sure the film has a satisfying conclusion we included a 2nd, more experienced, agonist player who bookends the film. Introduced as an ominous figure in the opening scene they reappear during the battle to face off against our hero. This sets up two rivals about to go head to head and have some fun.
