Recently, we stumbled upon Alexis Marcou and his unique creative style on Behance, where he has more than 100,000 followers and millions of project views. Behance is, however, not the only online social media platform he is active on – you can also find him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Ello… Not a single channel is missing from his website. This (his huge social media presence) and the fact that he has worked for brands such as Nike, ESPN and HP was enough for us to approach him for an interview. Fortunately, he was happy to talk to us and share some details about his exciting career and his plans for the future.
"4. What top tip would you give to someone about to start their career in a similar field as you?
The first thing that comes to me is to be very patient and be prepared to accept failure quite often. The hardest thing I had to do during my early career was to keep finding a motive in order to start or finish a design. As I progressed I stopped looking for motives and just went ahead working on designs without second thoughts. You don’t always need a motive. Nowadays, you don’t need to physically appear for this kind of job. I still see young people looking for a job in the same field as I am and instead of paying attention to the Web they go out and search for a job the old-fashioned way. Whether you like it or not, your agent is the Web."
