About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my interest and enthusiasm regarding the Mobile App Developer (iOS and Android) position for Torpedo Group as advertised through your website and enclose my CV for your consideration.

I am a hands-on Software Developer with a Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering and 2 years of software and application design, development, and support experience. I have developed iOS mobile payment applications with a MVC pattern using Xcode, together with the iOS SDK, Git and other products, such as Redmine. I have managed continuous improvement through the RESTful API and I have been highly involved in the QA process for crucial releases. I am always working towards broadening my skillset and I enjoy being challenged by projects that require me to work outside my comfort and knowledge set.

Having been raised in a family of lawyers, I noticed from a very early age that I had an unusual and deep interest in technology, which led me to the decision of pursuing an engineering degree instead of continuing with the family tradition.

During my university years I gained knowledge and experience in terms of electronics hardware design and implementation and became passionate about software development. My interest in this field along with my proactive attitude led me to become involved in extracurricular activities including robotics, app design and the Linux Society. On my final year, I chose a dissertation topic which combined the development of an iOS App and the design of a PCB.

After graduating with distinction from University, I got offered a summer placement in a start-up company called Kuapay, in Santa Monica, California. They extended my contract and I eventually became Lead Software Developer for the iOS Client Application up until the end of 2013.

Upon my return to Spain, I was given the chance to work as a Content Manager for Amazon. I believe this has helped me broaden my perspectives, giving me highly valuable insights into company operations & strategy and leading me to acquire new skills and new knowledge.

However, my strong passion for software development and technology has led to the decision of pursuing a career as a Software Developer. I aim to increase my knowledge in terms of development techniques and to gain expertise regarding new programming languages, making use of good coding practices, which have proven to be crucial when interfacing with other developers in order to complete complex projects.

I would appreciate the opportunity to further explore the needs of Torpedo Group' Software Development Team and how my strengths could have a positive impact on their performance.
