About me

As a recent computing graduate, I have found that the industry is very competitive. An internship opportunity is the stepping-stone into this competition. It will allow me to gain the relevant experience, knowledge and expertise to start off my IT career.

Within my studies, I have created many different kinds of software. I was first introduced to web development at secondary school. From this I was very intrigued and started creating MySpace templates for friends and family who didn't know about HTML/CSS. I was learning and developing myself at the same time. In University, the website development went onto me creating the layout and design of an e-tutoring system and a registration system. These projects were executed within a team. In all projects the same process was followed for efficiency. The team created a methodology to follow, assigned the workload to team members according to their strengths and planned meetings would take place to see how the project developed over a specified time period. Social media can be implemented into a website to promote key information to the public. I have worked on 2 commercial projects to date. The website created for the University of Greenwich uses HTML, CSS, jQuery and some PHP. The e-commerce website was created for Wordpress.

Creating the perfect website takes time and dedication to the user interface. The user interface course I studied gave me a huge insight into the different areas that is involved. Using the knowledge and the research I undertook, I created the user interface for a children's maths game making sure it followed criteria such as Neilson's Heuristics. Attention to detail was key to this project. The interface was created using Adobe Photoshop. Many of my design work are done through Photoshop. Tappy UFO, a game I released onto the Google Play store, was created using Photoshop in my spare time.

To gain the viewer's attraction, the information provided must be clear and positioned precisely. My IT skills are very strong. I can efficiently use all Microsoft Office programs and have first-hand experience on both Windows and OSX operating systems.

Within Absolute Print, communication and organisation is the key to the daily running of the business. Liaising with the directors down to my colleagues was important. With many design orders coming in each day, each aspect of the design was assigned to individuals. The workload was prioritised by the due date to get all orders out on time.

The internship provided by you will give me the opportunity to showcase my skills and expand on my current knowledge. With my current understanding of web technology and how the social media platforms operate, this opportunity will help me become the professional I want to be. I have seen various aspects of the website that can be improved. With my creativity and knowledge of interface design, I believe I will be a great asset to your team.
