About me

To Whom It May Concern

I was really exited to see on your website that you are always looking for a new talented member for your team. I believe that my interest, experience and education support my ability to work with your company. Therefore I am really interested to give my input and spirit on this company.

I have a master degree in Media and Arts Technology by Queen Mary University of London. Before I was graduated on Computer Science, therefore I am experienced in programing, however my interest was always connected with art. My biggest field of interest is augmented reality (projection-mapping), and the way how projectors can bring a computer generated world into the physical world in order of giving the audience different perception of reality. Also generative arts, creative coding and motion graphics arose my interest. Moreover I am quite interested in any kind of art installation especially in those that audience are part of the project or experience the power of the project.

During these days I am trying to find the best way to do projection mapping on moving human bodies. To achieve this I am working with Quartz Composer, Processing, Isadora and Kinect. Most recently I worked on a research project with P&G where I was responsible to develop a project, which would show the art side of the company. Therefore I have created an interactive live render projection mapping installation. In this project audience was in control of the projection surface (mapping) and had an input on the visuals that were projected on a head sculpture. Moreover projected visuals have been generating illusive world and optical illusion. For this project I have been working with Isadora (real time media manipulation software), Cinema 4D, After Effects, Arduino and many electronic components.

Previously I worked on a short experimental documentary about generative arts and changes that this form of art has experienced during the time. This documentary was created with RGBD technology, where Kinect camera and an HD camera were used to capture and visualise the world in mesmerising wireframe forms. Additionally during my masters I have developed some interesting Arduino projects and some sound tracks.

Furthermore I have one-year work experience as a programmer, web developer and web designer for a company called ePayTech. I have also worked for two years as a festival organiser where together with my team I was responsible for technical jobs such as screening, audio-visuals and sound system. In the beginning my career has started as a graphic designer where I used to work for four years. The knowledge gained during my work experience has helped me to create a strong working attitude, a desire to work and implement different creative ideas.

Thank you for your consideration. I would be very pleased to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Ilir Gruda
