Ian's work

About Ian

My career started in the traditional print industry.

I was employed by Owen Owen and TJ. Hughes retail outlets in their lithographic and screen print departments and was originally trained to design all their newspaper advertisements.

I began learning my computer skills using an Apple Macintosh but over the years I have developed my skills equally on both the PC and Mac platforms.

For twelve years I was manager of one the largest professional photographic laboratories in the UK, being responsible for more than sixty employees.

As a self employed professional videographer I have produced videos of weddings, various social functions and live music performance acts.

I have researched, negotiated prices, purchased and installed many digital solutions for a range of graphic and design companies.

Employed as a Specialist by Apple I progressed to the role of Creative providing tuition on both software and hardware.

I have many years experience of computer graphics design software, videography, photography, traditional and digital printing and many other associated technologies.

I have a wealth of software and hardware knowledge.

I was made redundant in September 2020 after the 80% government furlough supplement ended.

I am now seeking a new position.

Ideally looking for a 3-4 day week.

But nothing is set in stone and I am open to all options.
