Hugo Veiga, a blend of Portuguese and Brazilian souls, is obsessed with expanding creative frontiers.

His early career includes roles as a screenwriter and actor in Portuguese TV comedies, dubbing TV cartoons, and creating the animation character Azevedo. He also won two Lisbon Improv Theater Competition editions and created Clio On_Tour, a Renault Clio edition, launched in 2005.

Professionally, he co-founded AKQA São Paulo in what became his proudest journey so far. The studio created projects for innovative brands and artists such as Usher, Elton John, and Lady Gaga. AKQA São Paulo has been celebrated as WPP's Happiest Office in the World in 2018, Cannes Lions Latin America Agency of the Year in 2019, One Show Latin America Agency of the Year in 2020; and Cannes Lions Best Brazilian Agency in 2023. Additionally, the studio has won a Grand Clio for five clients over five consecutive years.

Hugo's portfolio includes four Cannes Lions Grand Prix - Titanium for "Dove Real Beauty Sketches," Media for "Air Max Graffiti Stores," Entertainment for Music for "Bluesman." and Digital Craft with "Nike Never Done Evolving, feat Serena." - Grammy nominations, Fast Company's World Changing Ideas, Best Ad by Time Magazine, as well as the iconic UNICEF Human Rights Seal.

Committed to social impact, Hugo supports initiatives like Soma+, guiding over 3000 students who lack university opportunities. He serves as an advisory board member for Zero Emissions World, a global philanthropic organization focused on social and environmental impact through gamification, storytelling, and trusted partnerships.

Despite his lousy voice, in 2020 he debuted as a musical artist under the alter-ego gohu. The first single from "Terra da Faina" was named "The Quarantine Anthem" by MTV Portugal. In 2022, he released "Imbassaí", his second album. If you meet Hugo in person, avoid mentioning gohu unless you're ready for an extended conversation. You have been warned.
