About me
To whom it may concern,
I am actively seeking copywriting roles. Within one of my most recent positions, I was a senior content writer and copywriter for a collection of lifestyle and culture start-ups for four years.
However, as a content writer and copywriter for multiple websites, it was my job to cover different subjects each day. Topics would range from entertainment news and lifestyle to more complex subjects such as life insurance policies and psychology. The key aim was to deliver an attractive and readable article to a variety of online readers. The average word count of each piece would be approximately 2,000 words. Often the subjects were requested by my boss but as time progressed, he allowed me to come up with my own topics.
To do this successfully took self-discipline. I had to know what I was going to write about the night before. This would entail: researching facts, finding attractive pictures to feature with the article without infringing copyright laws, creating eye-catching headlines, writing and editing informative and interesting pieces within certain word counts, experimenting with different headlines, and editing the pictures and content.
My work had to have clarity and be highly presentable as well as grammatically accurate. We had many readers so it was something I took very seriously as my boss's (as well as my own) reputation were on the line. In time, I gained his trust and respect and we developed a close and friendly working relationship that has lasted, as my boss knew I was reliable and would go above and beyond for the benefit of the company having turned the websites from modest means to ones that attracted millions of visitors a day.
Why should you hire me
Well, I hope that I have demonstrated something about my abilities and sense of responsibility. I am passionate and curious about writing and the world we live in.
Yours faithfully,
Hugo Johnson-Driscoll
