About me
Dear hiring manager,
As an enthusiastic and creative UX designer I am extremely interested in applying for the User Experience / Service Designer advertised on indeed website.
In September 2014, I completed my Master of Design in Design Innovation & Service Design degree at the Glasgow School of Art. My UX design practice has been established and informed by undertaking a diverse range of UX projects throughout my Masters programme. These experiences exposed me to working with a variety of client groups, cultures, professional work environments and established a broad perspective on how UX processes including; user research, customer journey analysis, defining and creating user journey maps, personas, scenarios, concept sketches and developing wireframes, screen designs and prototypes can be applied to deliver elegant solutions to problems. For example; The High Rise Glasgow project (full description found on my CV), explored collaborative practice and partnership working with a range of other universities including Chiba Japan, a local Glaswegian community and industry partner Fujitsu. I built engagement tools as well as conducted interviews with the local community and facilitated workshops with local residents in order establish core themes, concepts, creating user personas and designing a customer journey regarding future technologies and trends required for 2020. The final prototypes were presented to Fujitsu representatives and are currently contributing to the future planning, research and development of the company.
As a UX/ Service Designer I can offer a range of a multi discipline design practice, service and user experience design theoretical knowledge and innovative approaches to create valuable and excellent user experiences and enthusiasm for joining a dynamic, progressive and fast-growing creative team. The opportunity offers provides an excellent platform for me to develop my digital design skills and establish a high level industry experience.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I have attached my CV and portfolio: . I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my experience further should I be offered an interview. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Hsin Chen
