About me

My professional contribution to the design industry in a position is to understand any design project. I have the ability to liaise with external parties and other associated companies when it relates to business. Assisting and contributing knowledge comes naturally. I am able to use a variety of media in the development of a project and to take the initiative response to direction or instruction. I am opened minded and flexible to any new ways of working and I am committed to be independent & develop skills for further learning.

My interpersonal and communicative skills have been honed by my experience with interface with international clientele as well encounters in travels overseas. This is why I naturally relate well with different kinds of individuals. A crucial part in the design industry lies within the finer detail. With my excellent attention to detailed skills, I have managed to cut out unnecessary issues and problems in many production and print lines, e.g. different color that was applied, adding wrong information / copy or text, a quick edit to a word or phrase, spotting a low resolution image or color corrected image. I take great precision when applying my detailed skill to a final product.

Another vital contribution to the design industry is the use of editorial / text / language. I am specific when it comes to the use of phrases (headers, etc), sentences AND the CORRECT spelling and usage of wording. Using words and phrases in design are (design) elements that are used to portray a brand, a market and the client. My attention to detail is of a high caliber and I have a firm background on editing text and readings and also giving advice on editorials for newspaper articles and topics. Having the excellent native English speaking skills, puts me on the forefront to deal and interact with multiple clientele across the board. I am capable of speaking, reading and writing Afrikaans (Dutch) and German fluently.

I have gained an international range of experience in various fields of the design industry namely; large format printing, publications, media and advertising, marketing, branding and corporate design. Also with thirteen years of excellence in the design industry, my international experience ranges from Dubai, Wales, US/Hawaii, Australia, Ireland Philippines and currently Hong Kong.
