About me

After completing a fashion design Art Foundation at Chelsea Art School and then leaving Sussex University with a degree in Media and Cultural Studies, I gave myself a year to obtain the relevant work experience in order to secure a job within the newspaper and magazine industries.

During this period I spent time at View London, The London Paper, The Camden New Journal, Bliss, Now! Company and Reveal in order to learn how the system operates and what skills I would need to obtain to be part of the editorial team. I assisted on shoots, interviewed candidates for real life stories, worked on the picture desks and carried out the relevant administrative tasks. Thanks to my hard work and perseverance, I was given the opportunity to cover the position of Editorial Assistant at Reveal while the present assistant took leave. After completing over a years worth of work experience I freelanced as a fashion and web assistant for 'Now!' magazine. This gave me the chance to improve my writing, Photoshop and Indesign skills and gave me the confidence to excel in my career. I have kept a file of all the work that I contributed to during my time that can be provided if necessary.

I learnt a great deal about sourcing suitable photos, budget management, and maintaining image archive of used and stock material. I frequently worked in conjunction with international editions and syndication, negotiating fees with picture agencies and obtaining publicist clearance where necessary. Through this
