About me

I am a Freelance Filmmaker who works across a variety of roles. My passion lies within the Art Department, in particular Prop Making and Set Dressing. I am currently being mentored by feature film Prop Master Muffin Green, and am a mentee of the 'Talking Point Mentor Network'.

I've worked at 'The Royal Opera House' (career development) in the props workshop, making props (masks, chair upholstery, fibreglass casting lampposts) for 'Turandot' and La Boheme'. In the past I have worked at props hire houses ('H&M' Hire and 'Farley') and a West end theatre props supplier, Lisa Buckley, buying props for 'Private Lives', staring Kim Cattrall. Some of the props I sourced were 1940's style cups and saucers and paper lampshades, which the actors threw about in rage! I also prop bought for Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical 'Love Never Dies'.

Music video Art Department work includes the video 'Flame' for the band 'Sundara Karma' where I was Prop Buyer and Set Dresser, then ran the Art Department during the second half of the day. I have also worked on a number of Hugh Cornwell's music videos, including 'Bad Vibes', for which I Set Dressed and created a miniature dollhouse chair to match a full sized prop.

Film Art Department work has also seen me working as Cake/Food Stylist on the short film 'Eat'. This involved making a six-tiered cake for a daydream sequence and creating an edible prop that looked like raw meat! I also worked as Set Dresser for a model railway that was used in the opening credits of the 72 Hour Film, 'The Confusion of Tongues', starring Kate O'Toole. The finished set looked stunning lit up in the dark and was a joy to be a part of.

Alongside my Art Department work I write and direct, and Set Dress my own short films, which have won awards and been screened in a large number of festivals, including 'Raindance' and 'The Melbourne Film Festival'. I revel in the craft it takes to create a scripted narrative and also take great pride in my precise ability to create story and character within the Art Department as a Set Dresser, Prop Maker and Props Buyer.
