About me
I have recently returned to the UK, from Finland where I am originally from, having moved back at the end of 2005 with my English fiancé. I gained my BA in Interior Architecture, in England in 2003 and went on to work at an Architectural practice in Faversham, Kent until late 2005.
Most recently I worked for an Architectural practice in King's Hill near Maidstone but was to leave as the recent economic climate forced my employer to rethink his office development. Previous to my short stay in King's Hill I was working in Tapiola, just outside of Helsinki, for a company, which specialises in healthcare facilities. In my position I had two roles, firstly I was a Technician, producing technical drawings for both architectural and interior team, updating details and sections and advancing the design stages. Secondly, I worked as a project secretary, loading updated drawings on to a share system, which could be accessed by contractors on site as well as other members of the project team.
In England, while working at William Cook Associates, Faversham, I used AutoCAD and developed knowledge of Building Regulations as well as standard working practices. I was involved in all aspects of planning applications from drawings to meetings with planners, and also produced presentation sheets and documents using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. While working in Faversham, I worked on commercial housing and hotel projects of up to £3m in value.
