About me

My latest position was at Weaveability Ltd, who are based in Bury. They design and develop eCommerce solutions for B2B platforms using SAP. Some of their clients include Missguided, Warburtons and Malvern Panalytical.

As part of Weaveability's in-house design team I have regularly worked on their internal marketing material such as brochures, exhibition stands, postcard flyers, email marketing, ebooks and social media images. I really enjoyed working on an ebook entitled 'Hybris best practices'. It was slightly different to the corporate brochures I had worked on previously as it was less formal and more playful. I added lots of illustrations and icons, it was a fun project to work on.

More recently I had been working on Weaveability's own product a B2B Portal which is an add-on to B2B eCommerce websites running on SAP. Working closely with the Product Owner, UX designer, the developers and I have produced the first version of the product, creating wire frames and screens for the pages included. Whilst the developers build the portal I have researched and designed new styles to move the look and feel on to the next stage along with adding UI components to a design library to increase consistency throughout the portal.

Before Weaveability I worked at Avalanche Creative. Avalanche Creative is a Graphic Design studio based in Gatley, Cheadle. They provide design solutions for many projects including websites, brochures, leaflets, catalogues and branding. Their expertise covers the public sector, business sector, professional services and the arts and entertainment market.

I have been fortunate to work on a number of interesting and challenging projects, one of which was with Exide Batteries, a well known company with locations all over the world. They approached Avalanche with an idea to set up an in-house training programme that could universally train and educate every member of staff no matter where they were in the company.

Avalanche came up with the solution to provide Exide teams with an ipad so that they could download uniquely designed ibooks for any required training. This became known as The Exide Academy.

I was given the task to come up with the branding for the Academy and to produce the ibooks themselves. ibooks Author was new to Avalanche but I took up the challenge and learnt how to use the software (this wasnt all plain sailing as not everything was straight forward to use or the client wanted interactive elements in a certain way before knowing how the software worked. I managed to solve all the problems I faced and complete the task all to the arranged deadline.)

Recently I have been working on projects with the new UK Wesco distributor and LDL who supply bedroom and kitchen manufacturers. The NHS and Healthy Schools require posters, brochures, flyers and certificates.

I enjoy the variety and the challenges that come with working in a busy design studio and hope to continue striving to develop as a designer.
