About me
My name is Helen Sanfey, I am 23 years of age and I graduated in 2014 from Dublin City University with a 2:1 Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia.
I have just finished interning for an online fashion magazine called maven46 in which I wrote topical pieces relating to fashion, beauty, lifestyle and current events in entertainment on a daily basis. I mainly worked with Wordpress but I also sourced and edited imagery for each article using Photoshop. I also worked creating content for all social media sites to promote the magazine and maintain users' interests. Within this role I used video editing programs such as Adobe Premier Pro.
Other previous experience I have would be in working with amateur film makers creating a television show called Northsiders. Within this experience I was a jack of all trades person working in pre-production with managing scripts, script supervisor, finding locations, casting and emailing actors and organising the shoot itself. This experience opened my eyes to how much goes into the making of a show and just how important everyone's role is. On this particular shoot I was 1st assistant director, which was a massive challenge for me to undertake and really put me to the test trying to manage everything on the shoot and make sure we were on track and had time to give every scene attention within the time scale we were set to shoot.
I have also worked a little bit within radio as I worked as a radio presenter at a training radio station called FRQ which was set up in the Spin 103.8 studio in Dublin. This station gave young people the chance to get a feel for radio and how it works. I created and presented a radio show based around music with segments containing current mainstream music, music of the decades, specific genres and up and coming bands on the circuit. I loved researching and listening to new up and coming bands and singers as music would be one of my many passions. This experience was amazing as you were able to get a feel for what live radio is all about.
