About me

Please find attached my CV and some examples of my copywriting work for Red Girl Records and a local business. Although my current address is in Cornwall, if the right opportunity comes along and my application successful I will be looking to move towards London.

After I gained my degree in media and public relations from The College of St Mark and St John (awarded by Exeter University), I went straight into full time employment successfully applying for the position of Trainee Journalist at a local publishing company.

Through the last seven years my role changed to Subscriptions Manager and News Editor, sub-editing copy sent in from freelance writers as well as writing news pieces, releases and reviews to our strict weekly deadlines and niche audience market.

Although that position gave me some excellent opportunities and valuable experience, the restricted and specialist area of country sports has not allowed me to reach my full potential.

My writing, creative ideas and web knowledge were enriched by my additional work with Red Girl Records, a chance that was presented to me through my University studies. I began by moderating Melanie C's official forums, this led to the position I currently hold which includes writing news pieces for her website, biographies for press packs and promotions and keeping in regular contact with her team based in London and Wiltshire for updates.

I have also just finished writing the sleeve notes for Melanie's September release album 'Stages' which included writing the introduction and working with Melanie on her song comments.
