About me
To Whom it may concern,
My name is Helen Davey. I have recently moved to the area with my partner and want to apply for the Junior Designer job that you have advertised. I think I would be perfect for the role and have attached a copy of my CV with some sample portfolio work.
I have been looking for a role that will help me bridge the gap between print and the digital world! Although Pantone books are nice to touch I have been itching to show that I know the shortcut to the # key on my mac!
My Last job at VGL gave me an amazing foundation of knowledge that I think is incredibly valuable, seeing how artwork from large companies comes in, and having to work with it to make sure the end result is perfect for print gave me a better understanding of how artwork should be compiled. I also learnt how to multitask and work within very tight deadlines, and to understand how to interact with end customers. For Exterion work the turnaround would be a couple of hours from getting hold of the artwork, it would not be uncommon to be making sure that five bus wraps, a couple of sets of ticket gates for the London Underground, a few canvases and a wall mural would be ready in the print queue before lunch. Unfortunately VGL had no career ladder to follow and I want to challenge myself to be the designer and also work with more varied mediums.
I am currently trying to understand more about how to make my ideas come to life with web based design, and have been teaching myself some basic coding languages. I would love to work in an environment where there would be people who have these skills to see how it works in practice.
The images attached to my CV are low resolution so that they can be sent to you, If you would like to see some higher resolution images I can send them to you. I would be delighted to come and have a chat with you about the open position. You can contact me via email at or by phone on . I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
Helen Davey
