About me
In my most resent job I was the 3D Designer at Head office. In this period I had to design based on what the trends and requirements of clients. Rendering them in Photoshop and finally in 3d.
I ran the CAD CAM department in Shimansky Collection; I implemented and developed the department, while also training other staff in the department. This was the first time that South African company designed and manufactured their CAD CAM pieces.
My duties included:
- Designer at Head office - Design of new jewellery ranges, mock up of designs by other designers on 3D or Photoshop. Communicating with factory on make-ups. Technical advisor to sales staff as well as merchandising department. Design advisor to clients.
- General Sales - was primarily hired as sales person, but developed in company soon. Set up of jewellery displays in mornings, sales representative while not engaged in design office or IT department.
- Marketing department graphic designer - mock-up or concept rendering of marketing related designs. Prepping for print and optimising for internet use. Updating image library. Setting up of inter branch documents and templates for company use. Designing shop layouts with 3Dstudio.
I believe that a good designer is someone who can adapt.
