Oh hello there, greetings from the other side of the screen! I'm Heidi, an illustrator/animator/cat enthusiast based in Portland Oregon.

How did I get here

Re-wind a couple decades and some orbits around the sun and you'll find a wee baby Heidi growing up in the mountains of Eastern Washington, in a little known community called Onion Creek. There were probably onions (I didn't see any) and definitely a creek, and absolutely a lot of fort-building, terrorizing the local wildlife, and arts 'n crafts creating during childhood. I guess that's where it all started, a unique upbringing rich in exploring creativity, and using ones hands and imagination to create.

What is 'here' anyway

After a decade spent in the Emerald City, 2020 had been a year for change. Portland has gained me, along with an overweight cat, and a wonderful and supportive husband. After graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in Fine Arts, I took the commonly traveled road with that degree and fell into barista/receptionist/administration/office manager roles for 5 years or so. Having got that out of my system, I have re-entered the professional world of creativity and find myself loving my work: 2D animation and illustration. Outside of the 8am-5pm life, I keep myself busy with good old fashioned paint to paper, as well as daydreaming of my next travel adventure.
