My name is Heera Rehman, and I am a graduate Business Administration student. I am applying for the role of Social Media Executive as stated on reed.

An internship with an online recruitment company last year was within PR and Marketing. I was responsible for SEO material and writing blog posts for a range of audiences including senior positions and graduates. I was also responsible for online marketing activities and promoting the company through social media, thus gaining extensive knowledge of social media platforms. The internship also consisted of general administrative duties by receiving and making phone calls, updating Excel spread sheets and typing emails and letters to relevant clients using Microsoft Word. I attended networking events where I helped promote the company and make contacts relevant to the future growth of the business. I was also responsible for contacting journalists and researching relevant media to help promote the recruitment business further.

My previous employment within a law firm in the marketing department provided me with experience on carrying out marketing plans, research reports, various admin duties, setting up an event in the Law Society for the Employment team and helping to construct a new website for the firm through WordPress. I was also responsible for uploading profiles of the partners and staff, updating articles and press releases, general maintenance of the website, and creating new articles and press releases where necessary. I also set up photo shoots for the staff for the new website. I created an internal marketing campaign for a local homeless charity by creating press releases, ideas for fundraising and uploading articles to the company website.

In my most recent employment I was responsible for all social media activity for the company and increased their followers on LinkedIn by 1,000 in 8 weeks and doubled their Twitter following. I was also responsible for uploading regular blog content regarding various topics in different industries and news as well as creating reports based on ROI and social media. I have also been responsible for creating marketing strategies and campaigns for the social media networks. I have gained experience using various software packages such as Affino and Wordpress as well as various social media tools to monitor audience engagement. I was also actively involved in organising and helping out at various client events including a property event held at the BBC Broadcasting studio.
