About me

I am a self taught artist and have been drawing and painting all my life, and worked previously as a graphic layout artist,

I have created a number of traditional hand drawn illustrations and children's characters for specialist books and magazines, and also written a few demo's on pencil portraiture. The knowledge of Adobe DTP software I gained as a layout artists is still put to good use converting these into digital media for modern print.

Additionally I take commissions for portraiture, specialising in animals. Working to the highest detail and anatomical correctness I aim to capture the character of each individual animal. The majority of my portrait work is done using photographs, so there's no “sitting” required. The portraits are usually in oil based coloured pencil or oil on canvas.
