About me

Following a degree and much experience in graphic design, I left University looking to enter the field, with a focus on editorial and publishing design.

After a short time as a junior designer, I began working for a specialist magazine publisher as a sub editor. I enjoy this position for its necessary balance of skills, where I am able to utilise my design ability and creativity, as well as writing headlines, standfirsts and checking copy for errors.

The role has developed my precise and methodical nature and approach to work, although I especially enjoy the fun and creative elements of my job, so often associated with the design industry! As a result, I try and inject as much interest, concept-driven aesthetic and excitement into my layout designs. Following a re-design in 2007 one of our magazines was recently runner up in a catagory at the Yorkshire Bank Northern Journalism Awards, an accolate for which I was credited.

I have made a concious effort to involve myself in the future of the company, helping to develop a new creative division. I was chosen for this role due to my experience in the creative industry and forward-thinking approach to the business.

I believe that my sharp eye, enthusiastic, interested nature and innate passion for design leave me ideal for any relevant creative position.
