My journalism studies and work experience have developed my skills in research and writing, content management and online editorial work, proofreading, photography (film and digital), photo/film scanning, photo retouching (experience of using Photoshop CS3), organisational and interpersonal relations. I can work independently or in a group with little supervision. I am familiar with CMS systems, HTML and Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Dreammail and Google Analytics.At university, my journalism studies included researching and producing reports for both print and broadcast classes. In my third year, for part of the year, my class produced a community newspaper. Duties involved researching and writing news reports, photography, editing and layout.Currently, I work for WPP as a Knowledge Officer. Tasks include: adding content to the company website and employee intranet by creating and updating pages; updating Company Directory that appeared on the company website and employee intranet; answering internal and external email queries generated by the company website and employee intranet; SEO Project - reaching out to operating companies and bloggers within the Group to include reciprocal links to company website and blogs; monthly & bi-monthly email newsletters - assisting in creating newsletters; banner creation; and raising technical issues when they arise.At headlineproperty.co.uk, which is part of Centaur Media. This is a new website, launched in January 2007. The site is an online resource for property journalists in the UK. Pre-launch, my initial duties included research and project management to populate the new site. This included: researching new companies, company departments, trade organizations and local councils for the site; researched journalists in residential property field; proofreading, preparing and uploading archive press releases to site; correcting any incorrect HTML coding in uploaded press releases; attaching any relevant media to press releases and company entries (ie photos, pdf, Word/Excel files); overseeing a junior member of staff.Post-launch, my main duties include: entering new company and journalist information, manipulating photos in Photoshop Elements and CS2; researching any upcoming events and ensuring they were listed in the Events section; researching any jobs for the jobs section; chasing on case study requests for email alerts; preparing and sending daily email alerts; proofreading, preparing and uploading archive press releases to site; correcting any incorrect HTML coding in uploaded press releases; attaching any relevant media to press releases and company entries (ie photos, pdf, Word/Excel files)At Financial Jobs Online (gaapweb.com)., I worked as an Online Content Editor. My main duties involve proofreading, editing and posting jobs to website for general and premium products. For premium products, I do have to set the jobs by using basic HTML code as well as manipulating logos in Photoshop Elements. For some products, I edit banners in Photoshop Elements and Gif Construction Kit. Other duties include: setting daily sponsored job/message (includes banner editing, editorial of added message, etc); processing bespoke subscriber database. End of day procedures include sending job lists to subscribers, job tally reconciliation between client and web teams and locking up.At Property Intelligence, I research, update and maintain Retail database. This involved contact agents or companies (via email, letter or telephone) for information and internet. Other duties involved assisting in a Retail Rental Growth Report, coordinate Retail Demand Report (yearly report on demand in top 50 towns in UK), keeping abreast of retail and property industry news and trends, answering internal and external enquiries and providing leads or passing on relevant information to other sections.I look forward to any opportunities that I may be considered for.Yours sincerely
