About me

I am looking to further my career and explore a new avenue. I have much to bring to a role including elegance, creativity, passion, individuality and a need to be busy. I am particularly interested in your position as I feel that it would fulfil my desire to widen my abilities, to strengthen my skills and push my career forward to new heights.

I believe that my experience gives me an excellent foundation to take on an exciting challenge, and that my enthusiasm and flair for Interior Design make me an excellent candidate for vacancies in this field.

I am responsible for planning a store from the architect's original drawing. Most stores are 1000 square feet and will have fifty to sixty room settings. I design all the room sets including rooms; this includes choosing wallpapers, the colour scheme, the flooring, the lighting, the occasional furniture, the artwork and accessories.

As well as controlling all essential design elements, I have designed an exclusive range of feature panels that enhance the individual rooms. I have worked with manufacturers on one off collections and have had input in the design of various pieces of commissioned art on canvas and also in decorative glass.

My brief has been to attract customers into the room; to make them feel comfortable; and to inspire them into thinking that this is how they want their own home to be. I have achieved this using a selection of interesting materials and unique combinations of shape, colour, texture and light.

I think my strength is colour and I use accent colours to give my designs a very personal touch. I may use a striking colour found in a piece of beautiful silk fabric or a flash of intense light in a gorgeous piece of glass to inspire a whole collection. I am committed to quality and strive to achieve the highest standard in both initial designs and realisation of intentions.

This has been so successful that I have collaboratively set up an interiors website with UberDesigns, giving the customers the chance to purchase everything seen in a room.

A large part of my role consists of liaising closely with architects, manufacturers and contractors; I visit sites during construction and careful management of the project is always required. I have been responsible for controlling budgets and a typical store would have around a £100,000 budget for the interior set up. I arrange delivery of all items and I supervise a team during the set up programme. This turns around in six days, often several new store projects running at the same time or consecutively, requiring excellent organisation and management skills.
