About me

As a child, I grew up in a highly motivated environment where cultural extracurricular activities and academic excellence enriched each other. When I turned eleven, I was accepted to Turk Maarif College (Nicosia,Cyprus), the old English grammar school with an acceptance rate of 1 in 300.

I have always been interested in Art since my childhood. My earliest memories I can remember are all about myself spending most of my time drawing and being inspired to create new designs of almost everything I see. I've been using my creativity and imagination since those ages. At high school, I was always interested in all branches of art that could be perceived. I was reading lots of magazines which helped me to realise that I needed extra help to improve my skills, so I started extra lessons out of school.

As I was introduced to new techniques of patterns, drawings and colors, it became clear to me that I wanted to become a designer. Throughout the history many artists have gained the approval and praise of people, and although many of them passed away, we still acknowledge their work and admire them today. I perceive the idea that "art helps a person to leave eternal works" as an immortal life. Art is a never ending and never aging form of expression. I want to imprint my skills into the art world and become an inspiration to other people. Our generation is growing with many advances in technology that we are privileged to have. As designers, whatever we can imagine we should be able to reflect it can into the screen. Being an adaptable and resilient person always helped me in progressing along with all these advances.

At the age of 17, I was accepted to Eastern Mediterranean University (Famagusta, Cyprus) which is ranked among the top ten universities in Cyprus. This is where I started my higher education in graphic design. I completed the four-year programme in 2015, graduated with 3.15/4.00 honours certificate and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in "Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design".

During my university years I attended several exhibitions, workshops, and conferences related with graphic design, art and photography. Some of them which left huge impacts on me were conferences from Rob Janoff which was about logo design and from Cosku Turhan which was about visual effects. Joined by such events, the internships that I completed in the university's printing office and in a company called "Pikaj Graphic Design" assisted me in developing a thorough understanding of my profession. Following my graduation I commenced working as a junior graphic designer in Antrakt Production (Nicosia, Cyprus) which helped me improve in many areas of graphic design. After a while, I started to do some extra freelancer jobs too.

As an ambitious and motivated designer, I always wanted to march forward in my career path. In April 2016, I applied for a "senior graphic designer" post in Cypdes Advertising Factory (Nicosia, Cyprus) and was offered the job. Two years in this company was like a cornerstone in my professional life which helped me excel in graphic design, social media design, branding, advertising and printing.

The most important thing I learned from my experiences is that, a designer can only move forward if she can cross her own limits. This is why, I now moved to UK to see beyond the limits in a place where art and design has thrived. I am always eager to discover new things and I drive ideas and tastes from a broad range of sources.
