About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
At the moment I am working at a magazine publishing company as a Graphic Designer. I work across the 16 different titles that the company publish, the content ranges from weddings, crafts, gifts and accessories. I'm an editorial designer, designing the layouts that go into each of the magazines, each title has its own house-style. As well as this, I proof the magazine with the editor before going to press, and a final check when it has been to the printers. The company have also recently organised a new bridal trade show, called The Essential Collection. I took a big part in the design of the brand for this, as well as the printed materials that went alongside the show. I also design advertising for the magazine, which needed emailing to the client, and making proof changes with them. This involves emailing and phone conversations.
Prior to this I worked at a branding company, designing logos and printed media for small businesses. The company also embroidered and printed onto garments, as well as sign-writing vehicles, I would make the designs for these and pass onto those departments. This job was more face to face with the clients, having meetings about progression on their designs and taking things further and finalising them.
I graduated in 2009 with a BA(Hons) Degree in Graphic Communication and studied at the UCA in Farnham, Surrey. I am looking to further my career in graphic design, and progress as a designer. Your company sounds so exciting, and a new direction for me to take my design skills in. Having worked as a designer for over 2 years since I graduated, I have gained so much knowledge and experience - both jobs have really helped me become the designer I am today. I am a complete perfectionist, and 100% passionate about finishing the design to the best of my abilities. I have an excellent skills in the Adobe Packages, enjoy working on the computer, as well as starting in sketch books. I am able to work under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines. I am a fun, enthusiastic and hard working person, who would make a great addition to your team.
Please find attached a copy of a my CV, if you wish to see a PDF sample of work, please let me know and I can email this. I also have a website - *.
I look forward to hearing from you.
