About me
Hello, My name is Harry Wright, I am an award-winning graphic designer based in Sheffield. I have won awards on a number of my projects from "don't look down" to "the student cookbook" and a few more. I have been featured in a COVID-19 illustration book which raised money to help the most vulnerable. I am also in the process of releasing an illustrated book alongside the author, Fredrik Colting, based in New York. I have gathered over 80,000 views on my Behance portfolio, but my main achievement would be getting messages from people saying how my designs for my dont look down project (mental health awareness campaign) has really helped them.
I have worked for several design agencies, from remote freelance jobs to in-studio roles. I also have a wide range of freelance commercial work I have done, from branding co-working spaces to luxury CBD packaging to album covers for artists to commissioned illustrations.
I love to mix my portfolio style by combining my experimental work with client work because I like to show a variety in my skills. I always try and experiment with different styles, techniques and processes when it comes to my work, I think this is why I have a diverse portfolio.
My main interests in the design are typography, illustration, branding and packaging along with motion, 3d and editorial. I also have a strong interest in photography and film making. Most recently I have taken an interest in making music. I would say I am more than just a designer because I love anything creative and I never want to just limit myself to one label. I have a strong interest in fashion and music. I have recently started my fashion brand where I sell my custom t-shirts. I also design typefaces.
i am currently in the process of launching a website for design students (the design student) where the main goal is for it to be the main place new designers and design students come for inspiration, tutorials, resources and competitions, interviews and podcasts etc. The reason i started this project is that i remember when I first started in the design world, it was very hard to get my foot in the door and get involved with this competitive field and find a design blog catered to just students. I want to create a website which helps students understand the fundamentals of design and what good design is. I am in the early stages but i hope to launch shortly.
