About me
I am a London-born American living in Shoreditch. Born to American parents, I moved to New York at age 1 and then back at age 4, and throughout my life I have returned to visit family regularly. This dual citizenship was much of the reason I wanted to go to college in America, and led to my acceptance at Brown, in Rhode Island. After 3 semesters at Brown, I still hadn't found a comfortable rhythm, so I decided to return to England and get a job. I worked in hospitality (at a Travelodge) for a few months, but found that I needed more stimulating and creative work, so set about looking for a graphic design course. I found Shillington, a full-time 3-month intensive which taught me the basics of the craft and the programs associated with it (mostly the Adobe suite). With a certificate in one hand and a portfolio in the other, I am now looking for work in London as a graphic designer.
I work hard and well in high-pressure environments, as evidenced by my demanding education history, and seek out challenges and problems with enthusiasm. I love to get wrapped up in a project, and sometimes have a tendency to over-absorb myself and get a little obsessed. My favorite type of work to do (from what I can tell with little experience) is branding and packaging, as I really enjoy the process of starting from an idea and following it all the way through, though I suppose that's the whole of design.
On a personal note, I love George Carlin and Monty Python, I can't stop listening to Mac DeMarco, and I collect pig figurines (they're all around my flat).
