Dear Sir Madam,I would like to be considered for the position in Artworker/Administrator as I feel I am a suitable candiadate for the following reasons. I have a degree in BA Hons Publishing at Oxford Brookes University and as you can see from my attached CV, my current employment at BG Consulting (financial training company) and past employment as a DTP Operator has equipped me with excellent working skills. I have also gained relevant work experience from my placement with Hamlyn and my part time employment at Oxford University Press.My BA Publishing degree covered all aspects of the publishing industry but mainly concentrated on book publishing. This included editing, marketing, DTP, design, typography, website design, production, proofreading, publishing history, publishing as a business and many other aspects. I feel this extensive overview of the publishing industry would hugely benefit me in the required role.My current DTP/graphics position at BG Consulting has supplied me with various working skills. These include extensive computer skills in many IT programs as listed in my CV. This employment has especially taught me the importance of accuracy and efficiency whilst working to tight deadlines. Working in this position has enhanced my communication skills and taught me prioritise and multi-task. Proofreading all documents using various house styles has increased my spelling, grammar and writing skills. I create and design various marketing, advertisement and many other documentation software such as Quark, Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and has also nurtured my creative flair for design which is my passion. This position has also provided me with the ability to carry out general administrative skills, such as invoicing and stock taking.My DTP operator role with Insight Guides, has increased my confidence of working with Quark and now I have a reached an advanced level with several versions. It has also increased my skills as a desktop publisher which has specifically taught me the importance of accuracy and attention to detail ven under tight deadlines. I worked on five different series of books, all with different styles and designs. This role has taught me to be vigilant, organised and highly accurate. My responsibilities include taking in updater and proofreaders marks and also flow new books into up-to-date templates.I am very interested in the presented position and would like to be considered in order to provide progression in my career. The combination of my current experience of working for a financial corporation producing course material, my natural flair for creativity, extensive IT knowledge both on Mac and PC in all required software and my desire to develop my career to become an artworker makes my an ideal candidate for your vacancy. My motivation and enthusiasm for my work would allow me to thrive in this role. As an individual I am organised, confident, self-motivated, proactive, creative, keen to learn and enjoy a challenge. I take a high degree of care and pride in all work I undertake, be it large or small. I also have the ability to prioritise, use my own initiative and I work well as an individual as well as a team.
